Harper Palmer,11, a Stevenson 6th grader, loves inspiring others to try ballet. She loves showing others why she loves ballet, and why they might love it too. Being on stage, she can share with others something that is really special to her. She urges the younger dancers in the Nutcracker to bring an activity or craft along with them backstage, like, making friendship bracelets. This will help keep calm and busy while waiting to go out on stage. She is inspired by Misty Copeland, a principal dancer at ABT, where Harper trained this past summer. Misty’s hard work inspires Harper to work hard every day to pursue her dreams of one day dancing professionally in New York or Paris.
